Data we collect

Account data: name, email address, and password credentials when you sign up.
Content you provide: briefs, tasks, documents, and other material you add to your workspace.
Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and technical data such as browser type, device type, and IP address.
Billing data: if you buy a paid plan, our payment provider processes your payment details. We never store full card numbers.
Support data: messages you send us.

Why we use it

To provide and operate the service and your workspace.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
To answer your questions and provide support.
To improve the service and understand how it is used.
To send service and account notices, and, with your consent, product updates.
To meet legal and accounting obligations.

Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, improvement), consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

Service providers

We work with providers who process data on our behalf, including cloud hosting, database and authentication providers, AI model providers that process the content you submit to generate results, email delivery, payment processing, and product analytics. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We keep account and workspace data for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account we remove or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal reasons.

Access a copy of your data.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your data.
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Receive your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time.
Complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege access to protect your data. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to incidents.

Children

Crew42 is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
